Who we are
Black Wake Sportfishing LLC was built the same way its owner lives and works—with grit, pride, and no shortcuts.
Owned and operated by a blue-collar union carpenter with deep New England roots and Viking blood in his veins, Black Wake isn’t a yacht-club charter. It’s a working-man’s boat run by someone who understands early mornings, hard weather, and earning every damn thing the right way. The ocean doesn’t give handouts—and neither do we.
The name Black Wake comes from the dark trail a hard-running boat leaves behind her when she’s pushed with purpose. It’s the mark of commitment. Of forward motion. Of not turning back. That wake is what we chase every trip—whether we’re hunting striped bass tight to the rips, dropping on black sea bass structure, or running offshore into blue water in search of bluefin tuna.
Our trips are fun, loud when the fishing’s hot, respectful when the sea demands it, and always grounded in safety, skill, and experience. We fish the way we hunt—focused, patient, and relentless. When the bite’s on, it’s organized chaos. When it’s slow, it’s strategy, bourbon-level storytelling, and the kind of laughs you don’t get on a polished brochure boat.
Black Wake is also built on family and support. Behind every successful captain is a strong woman who holds the line at home, and we honor that partnership every mile offshore. That balance—work, family, and passion—is what keeps this operation honest and grounded.
We welcome everyone who respects the ocean, the fish, and the grind. Whether you’re a seasoned angler chasing trophies or someone looking to experience real New England sportfishing for the first time. No ego. No nonsense. Just salt air, bent rods, and memories you’ll talk about long after the dock lines are tied.
If you’re looking for polished luxury, keep walking.
If you want authentic, hard-earned, North Atlantic sport-fishing—welcome aboard!
Run hard. Fish harder. Leave a Black Wake.
